In a video statement posted to X on Monday, Owaisi voiced his frustration over what he describes as state inaction. He contends that the lack of formal residency proof disproportionately harms the poor, creating unnecessary hurdles for those attempting to access essential services. The AIMIM chief did not spare the ruling Congress party or the BJP, accusing both of failing to prioritize the documentation crisis.
Pointing toward Karnataka as a functional model, Owaisi urged Telangana to adopt similar protocols already yielding results under that state's Congress administration. He cited internal data suggesting a significant segment of the economically weaker sections in Telangana currently lacks basic documentation, leaving them in a legal gray area that hinders their ability to participate in civic life.
