Congress Alleges Corruption in BJP-Linked Temple Trusts

Congress MP Jairam Ramesh has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of presiding over systematic financial irregularities within major temple trusts. Claiming the sanctity of religious sites is being compromised for political and personal gain, Ramesh specifically pointed to the management of shrines in Ayodhya, Kedarnath, and Badrinath.

Ramesh argued that the party, which campaigned heavily on the construction of the Ram Temple, is now tarnishing the deity's name through mismanagement. He questioned the presence of BJP and RSS members in key administrative roles, suggesting these appointments facilitate corruption rather than spiritual governance.

In response to mounting pressure, BKTC Chairman Hemant Dwivedi has ordered a formal probe into allegations of misappropriated donations at the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Dham. While Dwivedi dismissed claims regarding his personal secretary as unfounded, he pledged to bolster transparency protocols across the temple network to restore public trust.
