Tamil Nadu BJP Demands Governor Intervention Over Cabinet Breach

Two private individuals sat in on a state cabinet meeting, prompting Tamil Nadu BJP President Nainar Nagendran to seek legal intervention from Governor R.N. Ravi on Saturday. The party argues the presence of these outsiders at Raj Bhavan violates the fundamental confidentiality oaths governing state executive proceedings.

Nainar Nagendran, accompanied by party figures Arvind Menon and Narayanan Thirupathy, pressed the Governor to demand accountability from Chief Minister Joseph Vijay. Beyond the cabinet controversy, the delegation highlighted the alleged misconduct of the Higher Education Minister toward minors and the participation of John Arokiyasamy and Vishnu Reddy in official government deliberations.

The BJP delegation presented a sharp critique of the current administration, citing a surge in criminal activity. They reported 151 rape cases, 85 murders, and 80 drug trafficking incidents as evidence of systemic failure. Nagendran further signaled frustration over ongoing corruption allegations against ministers Sarathkumar and Nirmal Kumar, asserting that the government remains paralyzed by inaction despite the mounting pressure of these official complaints.
