Houthi spokesperson Yahya Sarea dismissed the obstruction, asserting that scheduled air routes between Sanaa and Tehran remain operational. The tension spikes after an Iranian plane recently transported a Houthi delegation to Tehran to attend the funeral of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, a mission the group insists will not be curtailed by regional adversaries.
The Saudi-led coalition, which has maintained a military presence in Yemen since 2015, rejected the accusations as a diversionary tactic. Coalition officials claimed the Houthis are attempting to mask their own ongoing violations and promised a decisive response to any aggression against Saudi or Yemeni sovereignty.
