Uddhav Thackeray Launches Ram Raksha Andolan Amid Temple Fund Allegations

Uddhav Thackeray is mobilizing his base to challenge the BJP over alleged financial irregularities linked to the Ram Temple construction. By launching the statewide Ram Raksha Andolan on July 5, the Shiv Sena (UBT) leader aims to reclaim the party’s historical narrative regarding the temple movement through public religious observance.

The movement kicks off in Dadar, with Thackeray calling on supporters of Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology to recite the Hanuman Chalisa at temples across Maharashtra. He claims the BJP has weaponized the temple project for political gain, labeling the alleged financial misconduct as 'Operation Ram Mandir.' Thackeray insists that those responsible for the misappropriation of funds must face consequences, invoking the legacy of Atal Bihari Vajpayee to emphasize the need for accountability.

Beyond the protest, Thackeray maintains his commitment to the cause, signaling his readiness to visit the Ram Temple alongside Amit Shah to assert Shiv Sena’s long-standing role in the temple’s history. This campaign serves as both a critique of the ruling party’s management of the trust and a strategic effort to consolidate his party's position among the Hindu electorate.
