Reddy claims the government has abandoned welfare-focused policies in favor of political diversion, citing a rise in custodial deaths and widespread civilian intimidation. According to the YSR Congress leader, the current atmosphere prevents citizens from seeking assistance at local police stations, signaling a significant regression in civil protection.
Beyond governance concerns, Reddy targeted the state’s "Smart Kitchens" initiative, labeling the project a pretext to favor political allies at the expense of 85,000 mid-day meal workers. These employees, he noted, have gone two months without pay. He contrasted this current stagnation with his previous administration’s efforts, which had focused on increasing honorariums for school meal staff, and warned that the new policy threatens to strip thousands of women of their primary source of income.
