By replacing legacy systems with modern IT infrastructure, Goiás aims to tighten oversight on fiscal risks while bolstering transparency in public spending. These changes are designed to stabilize the state’s long-term budget, ensuring that government services remain resilient amid the transition to the new tax regime.
This funding represents the third phase of the PROFISCO Programme, a broader, nationwide push to institutionalize fiscal discipline across Brazilian states. Beyond the IDB’s primary loan, the state of Goiás will contribute an additional $10.1 million in counterpart funding. The credit carries a 24-year repayment window, featuring a six-year grace period and interest rates indexed to the Secured Overnight Financing Rate.
